As an independent curator, I am interested in projects that probe contemporary issues as they relate to gender, sexuality, race and nationality and seek to develop opportunities for underrepresented artists.  The 2004 exhibition of the Wedding Project, co-curated with Melissa Potter, and shown at 65 Hope Street Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, explored the current frenzy that continues to surround the rituals associated with marriage.

I completed coursework while in the doctoral program for art history at the Graduate Center, CUNY (2005-2010), and earned a Master’s degree in art history from Hunter College, CUNY (2005).  My focus area included feminist art from the early 1970s through the present with a primary interest in racially diverse artists generally working in the United States and in relation to the growing discourses of post-colonialism and globalization.
